Presenting you, straight from the city of pearls and the land of royal Nizam’s, a bespoke cuisine from their kitchens – The Hyderabadi Dastarkhaun, at Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind located at The Hormuz Grand Hotel, Muscat.
Before the onset of the Hyderabadi festival at Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind, I was invited for a fabulous evening of an exclusive culinary journey which included an interactive cooking demo with The Qureshi Brothers – Master Chefs Ashfaque & Irfan Qureshi, as a special preview before the festival commenced on 17th of September.
The evening started with a live cooking session of two Hyderabad culinary delicacies: Biryani (main course) and Phirni (dessert).
It was my first experience in the back of a restaurant’s kitchen and the knowledge of how restaurants run was enlightening.
After the dishes were prepared and garnished to perfection, it was time to relish and savour them.
The menu was extensively elaborate as you can see in the pictures, and every dish that was prepared was extravagant and pleasing to my taste buds. I absolutely loved the Lal Mirch Ka Tikka, Shammi Kebab, the Biryanis, Baghaare Baigan, Hyderabadi Nehari & Haleem. The Phirni, Badam Ki Lauz and Double Ka Meetha were the perfect climax to a lovely meal.
Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind is pleasantly decorated with high ceilings and profound Mughal inspired artwork surrounding that makes the whole dinning experience something to relish. The entire team (Chefs & Staff) were delightfully hospitable and warm.
The ongoing festival tentatively ends on the 30th of September. So guys head to Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind and have an exquisite culinary experience, where the Qureshi chefs have curated an exciting A’la carte menu using the special ingredients, handpicked to create beautiful Hyderabad delicacies.
It was a pleasure to meet and interact with the maestros while they were live in action and be a part of this fun filled lovely evening.
